๐ท๐บ Russia looks to ban remote work pushing back on escape from mobilization
An upcoming Russian bill will completely ban remote work for certain employees
Focused primarily on fields that deal with with the distribution of classified information and citizens who fled the country to escape military mobilization
More than 1.1m people fled the country into neighboring Georgia & Kazakhstan in wake of the mobilization announcement
The bill will supposedly ban these people to work remotely for Russian companies
๐๏ธ Bali governor clarifies concerns about premarital sex ban (it's still concerning)
In a recent statement, Bali governor Wayan Koster said that his government โwill not check on marital status upon check-in at any tourism accommodationsโ such as hotels, villas, guesthouses, or spas.
He also reminded tourists that only family members of those involved can report the crime
๐ค Diving in further: The obvious concern here is that this law could easily be used/twisted to jail people that the government sees as "troublemakers" such as people from the LGBTQ+ community or critics of the government.

๐ฆ Asian countries dominate the list of least cyber-secure remote work locations
Resent research sought to highlight which countries posed the highest security risks for remote workers
Indonesia & Cyprus were the top 2 least cyber-secure countries followed by Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and Nepal
The most cyber-secure countries were Finland, Honduras, Guatemala, Paraguay, and Austria and South Korea sharing 5th place
๐ฎ๐ณ Goa may soon launch India's first digital nomad visa
Indiaโs favorite beach destination, Goa may soon have a digital nomad visa program that will help anyone and everyone to work remotely from the state.
The goal is to attract high-net-worth individuals and remote workers to come and stay in Goa for an extended amount of time
Goa's government is already working with Airbnb to promote homestay tourism in the state.
We don't yet know any specifics on the visa requirements or how long it will enable you to stay in the country or if it will include any tax perks.
๐ณ๐ฑ Amsterdam launches "Stay Away" campaign to discourage certain types of tourism & overtourism
The campaign will attempt to reduce the number of visitors in the spring of 2023 by discouraging several popular recreational activities
Categories specifically targeted include cannabis & drug tourists, bachelor parties, and sex tourists
Amsterdam will also place a 20m cap on tourists to curb over tourism.
Other expected actions include a tourist tax, restrictions on river cruises and guided group tours, and additional regulations on short-term rentals.
